Well Water Project

Plans are well underway for the launch of the 2011 WELL WATER PROJECT.

The partnership between The Simson Foundation and SEDARVP-Ghana aims to provide borehole wells to approximately 40 communities in the northern region of Ghana.
Clean drinking water is taken for granted by so many people in western society that sometimes they forget how many people internationally aren’t able to simply turn on a tap and have clean, fresh and more importantly - safe drinking water.

Jeremy Simson, Founder and Managing Director of The Simson Foundation had this to say:

"We believe, that the best advocates for these [Ghanaian] communities are the current management and staff of SEDARVP Ghana. This is why we will be working intensively with Shaibu Abukari Niendow, the organisation's Founder and President, to implement the necessary strategies and structure to turn these plans into a reality"

Sponsorship Programs

Sponsorships and donations are our only source of funding!!

Your contribution today will make an absolute difference to the lives of thousands in Northern Ghana. The sponsorship programs we have in place will:

  • Help us to build more schools so that all children have access to education This will also reduce the class room size so it is more manageable and conducive to learning.
  • Renovate existing broken down libraries and fill them with books and computers.
  • Build small community clinics so families can get to medical attention when they need it.
  • Have an impact on the UN Millennium Goals to Promote Gender Equality and Empower Women. Through this scholarship, a girl can now gain the confidence and dream of one day becoming a Professional Artist, Doctor, Author, Educator, Musician, or Teacher and be part of development in her community.

Volunteer Spotlight

A Volunteer Testimonial:

Volunteer gets CertificateDear Sedarvp-Ghana,

I want to thank all Board members of Sedarvp-Ghana for offering me this unique experience.

I have learnt so much from being in a different culture where helping people are so much appreciated.

It was my first time standing in front of a classroom. Teaching was something I wanted to try and I’m glad SEDARVP-GHANA offered me the chance.

During my volunteering, I was always monitored well and the Director/Founder, Mr. Shaibu Abukari Niendow ask every now and then how I was doing and all the necessary support was given to me.

Kind regards.

Woman Empowerment

Woman eEpowerment SEDARVP-Ghana has for several years been involved in the neighbor communities Kanvuli, Tunaayili and more through the nursery school and early childhood development center. To further support the development of the communities and Ghana, SEDARVP-Ghana realized that our poor mothers in these communities needed more attention. Some of these poor women had few possibilities of supporting their families and small impact on their children's schooling.

WELCOME TO SEDARVP-Ghana

I’m writing today to introduce myself and SEDARVP-Ghana!

As the Founder and Director of Sedarvp, I want to thank you for your interest in joining our work to empower millions of people in poor communities in and around Ghana.

SEDARVP-Ghana as a charity, non-profit and voluntary organization is committed to reducing and eventually ending extreme poverty.

We know the importance of fighting the underlying causes of poverty so that our work will have a lasting impact.  Women in poor communities are at the heart of SEDARVP-Ghana efforts to improve health, education, and economic opportunity because experience shows that a woman's achievements yield dramatic benefits for her entire family.  SEDARVP-Ghana is also committed to providing lifesaving assistance during times of crisis and helping rebuild safer, stronger communities afterward.

If you are like me, agencies, charity organizations and what have you, there could be nothing more rewarding than using your skills and experience to help people in poor communities expand opportunity for themselves and their children and work with them to fight issues such as social exclusion, gender inequity, and poor governance that keep them entrenched in poverty.

Every position at SEDARVP-Ghana contributes to realizing our overall vision and mission.  I welcome your interest in joining a diverse, talented, professional and extremely committed team.

If you are interested in a career dedicated to building a world of hope, tolerance and social justice where poverty has been overcome and everyone lives with dignity and security, I encourage you to take the first step and apply today!

Become a volunteer with us and make this world a better place for the next generations.

Thank you all in advance.

Warm regards,
Mr. Shaibu Abukari Niendow
